EAGLE PASS, TX – An agent from the Uvalde Border Patrol Station was assaulted after a failed human smuggling attempt on Highway 57 near Eagle Pass.
“Violence against on our agents will not be tolerated,” said Del Rio Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Louie W. Collins. “We will seek maximum penalties available under the law on anyone who assaults a Border Patrol agent.”
On March 30, Border Patrol agents attempted to stop a pick-up truck on Highway 57. After the driver failed to yield for several miles, he stopped and attempt to abscond on foot. When confronted by an agent he became combative, striking the agent in the face before being subdued and arrested. The agent suffered mirror bruising to the side of his face but did not require medical attention other than first aid at the scene.
Upon inspection of the driver’s vehicle, agents found nine undocumented Mexican nationals in the bed of the truck and inside the cab. The nine individuals were processed per CBP guidelines.
The driver, a 21-year-old legal permanent resident, originally from Honduras, faces a charge of 18 USC § 111 – assault on a federal officer – and was turned over to the custody of the FBI.

What sovereign nation in the world allows itself to be invaded? Essentially, a country ceases to remain sovereign if it has no borders. Why do Democrats insist there is no crisis at our southern border? Perhaps it is because illegal aliens flock to major metropolitan areas and bolster the Democrat voting block. It is a crying shame that Democrats, including Beetle Bailey Beto, promote the invasion of America and the destruction of our social fabric to promote a liberal agenda. Shame, shame, shame on you....

PermalinkOver 8 million illegal immigrants work in the US. Maybe Americans can fill those menial jobs for below povery wages. People employing them sentenced to prison, no matter who they are, President, lawyers, millionaires, etc. Then maybe then, they will get the message and not overstay visas and go back or just not make the trek.

PermalinkThere may be 8 mil. illegals working menial below poverty wage jobs but, I'm a contractor and have been in construction for about 3 decades so I have a little more info on that. I know for a fact that in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Kansas, dozens of jobs on any given large project are being done by illegals. I also know those aren't poverty wage jobs. They are jobs that could support US citizen families.

PermalinkIt's a good that agent didn't fight back and hurt anyone or it would have been on CNN for days.

PermalinkSecure the border using every means possible and enforce the laws. Deport illegals according to the laws. Punish sanctuary cities for harboring those who have broken the laws. Punish those who illegally employ according to the laws.
