Brownwood Baby Dies 3 Weeks After Alleged Abuse

 

BROWNWOOD, TX -- A 7-month-old boy has died three weeks after allegedly being severely beaten by the mother's boyfriend.

Evan Travis Williford, 21, was arrested after police responded to a medical emergency involving a child in the 300 block of Bluffview Dr. on March 5.

The boy was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center before being flown in critical condition to Fort Worth's Cook Children's Medical Center.

Williford was charged with injury to a child. Details have not been released as to how the baby suffered the injuries and the charges have not been upgraded, according to KTXS.

He is currently being held on a $45,000 bond.
