Planet Fitness Temporarily Closed Due to Electrical Problems

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Planet Fitness has temporarily closed its doors on Tuesday due to electrical problems.

On March 25 the San Angelo Fire Department were dispatched to planet fitness for a possible fire. According to scanner reports smoke was coming out of a fuse box.

Planet Fitness released the following statement: "Due to an electrical outage we are temporarily having to close our doors. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. We are working meticulously to resolve all issues in order to be open as soon as possible."

Planet Fitness is located at 3552 Knickerbocker Rd inside the Southwest Plaza.

I would be willing to bet money that the Planet Fitness building has the incredibly unsafe Federal Pacific breakers, as does most of SW San Angelo. City code “should” have outlawed those fire-prone breakers in any home or business that is bought or sold after a certain date, to assure they are taken out of service.
