Meet Dorin Aschilean, Formerly of Romania, Who Just Became an American

SAN ANGELO, TX – Thirty-one people from 11 different countries became U.S. citizens in San Angelo on Wednesday.

At the O.C. Fisher Federal Building people from all over the world came together with one goal in mind, and that is to become a U.S. Citizen. These 31 people came from Mexico all the way to Vietnam, and have struggled through much hardships and paperwork to navigate through the process of legalization.

Federal Judge Scott Frost led the ceremony by offering encouraging words followed by the keynote speaker Alma Perez. Perez is a graduate from Angelo State, Texas Tech, and the University of Texas. She is currently a professor at the University of Southern California. Perez's Grandparents migrated to America before she was born.

Among the new citizens was Dorin Aschilean. Dorin is a native of Romania who moved to the United States in the mid 2000s. He currently works for the City of San Angelo, and hoping to further his career now that he is a citizen.

Hi Dorin, welcome to America. Thank you for legally becoming a citizen, instead of sneaking across our southern border like a common criminal.

Welcome to America. Thanks for becoming a citizen. You can be proud of following the rules to become a citizen. You are heads above the illegal aliens who become criminals to come here.
