Police Find Body Near S. Chadbourne Bridge

 

The section in between S. Chadbourne bridge and Irving St. bridge are cordoned off by a police perimeter. The police radio said that a body was found near the S. Chadbourne bridge.

Traffic can still pass on both bridges, however access is not allowed in the area between the bridges.

San Angelo police are holding a press conference at 8:30 a.m. near the scene.

The body was found in the exact location where police have been searching for 15-year-old Daniel Perez since Tuesday.

Update 7:49 a.m.

The low water crossing at S. Irving across the Concho River is closed to traffic. It appears that a family was brought to the scene. The body is still in the water.

Update 8:20 p.m.

Both Chadbourne and Irving bridges are closed. 

Update 8:47 a.m.

San Angelo police held a press conference at 8:30 a.m. They said the identity of the dead person found in the Concho River has not been identified.

According to the school district, as a precaution to an announcement about the identity of the body, additional SAISD counselors have already reported to the Central Freshman Campus and will be there as long as needed. No campuses will close.

Update 10:10 a.m.

The San Angelo police said that the Irving and Chadbourne St. bridges are open.
