UPDATE: San Angelo ISD School Bus Involved in Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A San Angelo ISD school bus was involved in a crash on 7th St. and Bryant Friday morning.

SAISD students are out of school today and there is no word yet if any students were on the bus.

This is a developing story.

UPDATE: Friday 9:25 a.m.

San Angelo Police Department investigating officer Laudermilk said at the scene the school bus stopped at the railroad crossing as required by state law and had its lights flashing.

The driver of the red Chevrolet pickup apparently didn't see the flashing lights and crashed into the back of the bus.

The bus driver was the only person on the bus.

The driver of the pickup was the sole occupant as well.

There were no injuries.

The driver of the pickup was issued a citation for failure to control speed.

How does somebody not see a bus with lights flashing? Oh wait, can't see all that stuff if you've got your head buried in the cell phone in your lap. After all, that lol emoji is obviously more important than paying attention to the real world.
