Central Cheer Claims First Ever NCA Title

 

DALLAS, TX -- The San Angelo Central cheer team is bringing back the big hardware back from the National Cheerleaders Association Nationals for the first time.

The Central cheer team won the Medium High School Overall Gameday championship -- their first national title in school history -- with an overall score of 292.96.

The team under the direction of Matt Escue took home top marks in Fight Song (97) and Cheer (99.3). They finished fourth in Band Chant with a score of 96.66 to help maintain their top spot.

Central beat out fellow Texas outfit Lampasas by 26-hundredths of a point for the win.
