AREA BOYS HOOPS: Chitsey's 34 Helps No. 12 Wall Cool Off Red-Hot TLCA After Slow Start

WALL, TX -- The no. 12-ranked Wall Hawks got all they could handle from the red-hot TLCA Eagles before cruising to a 61-38 win in a clash of District 4-3A unbeatens on Friday.

TLCA used their speed to take a narrow 9-8 lead going into the second quarter. There, Wall found their rhythm in the front and backcourt.

Wall outscored TLCA 13-4 behind Colton Chitsey's 10 points which gave the Hawks a 21-13 lead entering halftime.

That started a scoring trend for Chitsey. He would post 11 points in the third quarter and another 10 in the fourth as Wall outscored TLCA 40-25 in the second half.

In all, Chitsey finished with an astonishing 34 points. Thanks to four three-pointers, Baylor Halfmann finished with 16 points.

TLCA's Isaac Gonzales was the only Eagle in double figures at 12 points. Star guard Jevon Everitt was held scoreless through the first three quarters before he managed three points in the fourth.

Wall (23-3, 6-0) has now won five straight games. They'll look to add to that when they travel to Sonora on Jan. 22.

TLCA (17-3, 5-1) will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they host Reagan County.

Eldorado Stays Perfect in District with Narrow Win Over Rival Christoval

Scoring just two points in the first quarter didn't faze the Eldorado Eagles who beat rival Christoval 44-42 on the road.

Apiatan and Azul Salinas helped the Cougars take a 7-2 lead after the first.

Eldorado's Aiden Dennis led to comeback charge after that quarter, dropping six points to help the Eagles trim the deficit to 18-15 going into halftime.
