Elderly Woman Injured in Noon Hour Crash Near Busy Southwest San Angelo Intersection

SAN ANGELO, TX -- An elderly woman suffered unknown injuries in a two vehicle crash near the intersection of Sherwood Way and FM 2288 by Chick-Fil-A during the noon hour Friday.

San Angelo Police Department investigating officer Brian Bylsma says the investigation shows the driver of a 2014 GMC SUV was attempting to turn left onto FM 2288 from the Chick-Fil-A parking lot.

The GMC driver told officer Bylsma someone waived her out in busy traffic.

When the driver pulled out her vehicle collided with a 2015 Chevy Malibu headed west on FM 2288.

The elderly female driver of the Malibu was complaining of pain but refused to go to the hospital in an ambulance.

The driver of the GMC was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
