ABILENE, TX-- A north Abilene house fire started after a woman fell asleep while cooking, authorities say.
The Abilene Fire Department responded to a house fire at 2002 Yorktown Dr. at 2 a.m. on Tuesday. A battalion chief said a woman had started cooking a meal around that time, but fell asleep after taking some medication.
Her daughter came home to find the house on fire and called 911. Everyone in the house, including two dogs, made it out safely with no reported injuries.

Since San Angelo Live seems so determined to report every other cities news instead of our local news, can you please start providing your local readers with these other cities sales circulars ? It just could be that we may want to travel to Abilene, Midland, Odessa, Lubbock and other cities to take advantage of cheaper groceries, sporting equipment, clothing and other things that San Angelo might have over priced ? ? ?
THANK YOU,
A San Angeloan just wishing we had local news coverage............

Permalink"If ya want something done right, do it yourself." I'd really like to see your online news website covering everything that is newsworthy within the SA city limits, and only within city limits. I'll be your first subscriber.
Something else pertinent she used to say..."Wish in one hand and s@#t in the other and see which one gets full first."

PermalinkGetting close to giving up on this rant stuff. I thought someone monitored this stuff, because some of mine in the early going "had to be approved" before they showed up. I am getting crazy emails about nonsensical rants. There used to be decent dialog here, but not any more.

PermalinkBrings out the idiots every time...being a news site I guess they would look like hypocrites if they banned users for coming here just to show how smart and witty they are...

Permalinkevery single comment had to judged by the first person that looked at it.
And it is still that way as far as I can tell.
As a result of that comments are jumbled up time wise most if not all of the time.
I can post on national and international forums and news sites and it is displayed as soon as you hit reply.
It's really not right.
I probably won't see this till tomorrow sometime, if ever.
Merry Christmas
