SAN ANGELO, TX -- The drivers of two vehicles that crashed at Knickerbocker Rd. and Valley View Blvd. escaped serious injury Tuesday afternoon.
According to investigating San Angelo Police Officers at the scene, a silver passenger car was southbound on Knickerbocker Rd. when the driver disregarded the flashing red light and crashed into a red Ford F-250 pulling a trailer.
The impact pushed the F-250 into the other side of Valley View Blvd. The crash deployed the airbags in the passenger car and heavily damaged the rear axle on the F-250.
No one was seriously injured.
The driver of the passenger car was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
The signal light at the busy intersection near Bentwood was knocked down last week when an oversized load clipped the signal light pole. City workers say the signal light will be out for about a month.

I go through this intersection multiple times a day. There are three types of people that use it...the ones that know it works as a stop sign, the ones that don’t care either way and they always have the right of way, and the ones that need to get retested to drive. I’ve lived in multiple states and everyone always says there city has the worst drivers. I can definitively say without a doubt San Angelo holds that title. Just watch this intersection for 30 minutes and you’ll get plenty of laughs.
