Mega Millions Jackpot Now at Record-High $1.6 Billion

AUSTIN, TX-- The Mega Millions lottery game has set yet another record ahead of Tuesday's drawing.

After no winning ticket was sold for last Friday's record $1 billion prize, the jackpot for the popular lottery game has climbed to $1.6 billion.

The cash option for that prize is estimated at $904 million.

Good luck winning the jackpot, though. Odds for winning the coveted prize are listed at 1 in 302 million. Winning any of the nine prizes is listed at 1 in 24.

In addition to the astronomically high Mega Millions prize, the Powerball jackpot is listed at a cool $620 million. The Powerball cash option is listed at $354.3 million.

The odds for the Powerball grand prize are listed at 1 in 292 million. Winning any of prize is also listed at 1 in 24.

Perspectively, your odds of being struck by lightning or being bitten by a shark are much more likely. But, hey, where's the fun in that?

The Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday and the drawing for the Powerball is scheduled for Wednesday.

This is the top news story? I guess nothing happened over the weekend. If it did, no one at LIVE seems to give a crap. What the heck do reporters here do, wait for something so big everyone already knows about it? Get off your lazy butts and report the news, and that doesn't mean going to football games and telling us about them.
