So sick of people that think they own the road around here. Not just talking about this specific accident, either. I take my children to school and daycare every weekday, and I have to drive the length of Southwest. Can't say how many times I've been passed, in a school zone, when I'm going the posted speed limit. WHY do people feel the law doesn't apply to them? People in a rush to drop their kids off, who in the end, end up in front of me in the drop off lane. Just GO THE LIMIT! Stop using your freakin' cell phone when you're behind the wheel!
I agree JD. There's not a light on Knickerbocker Rd. that someone doesn't run on every cycle through. If the police would just sit there and watch, we could have enough money in the city coffers to pay for the raises (I know they're short-staffed so they can't do that, it's just wishful thinking). In the mornings, the left turn lane from the Loop onto Knickerbocker heading toward the hospital is run by at least 2 vehicles every time. I think the red light is only a suggestion for most drivers in a hurry.
You are exactly right. I just saw a police car lights and sirens coming down sherwood way and there was a black dodge avenger just cruising right down the middle lane. Didnt try to move or slow down right in the path of the patrol car. I wanted to throw rocks at them
3:47 pm - Not much happening. The train is gone. I saw a bird fly by. There's a dog barking. ;-)
It takes just a second to quickly look both ways before you go. I never assume that everyone respects the traffic lights and this habit has saved me from being broadsided a number of times.
