Promoters Cancel Texas Music Singer Kevin Fowler's Show

SAN ANGELO, TX — The promoter for the Kevin Fowler concert in San Angelo canceled the show. It was scheduled for August 25 in the coliseum.

The show was originally planned to be held at Hughes Point in Spring Creek Park until the City of San Angelo Parks Department told the promoters to shut it down. The City then offered the coliseum as an alternate venue for the show on the same day.

According to City Parks and Recreation Director Carl White, the reason was the promoters and City staff did not have enough time to usher through several variances to City ordinances that were required to allow the show. The promoter booked Fowler and promoted the show with no written confirmation the City approved the event. Ray Broadway, the promoter, said he did obtain verbal commitments from two City officials months before paying a deposit to Fowler’s tour manager.

More on the City denial here.

Now that the show is cancelled, Broadway is offering refunds to all who purchased tickets. The public’s response to the move to the coliseum from the marina was not positive, Broadway stated on the ticketing landing page on Stubwire.com.

“Because of this they are postponing the event to future date that has yet to be determined. We are issuing you a full refund on your order and once a new date is scheduled we will send you an email with the details and you can purchase new tickets,” an announcement stated on Stubwire.com.

August 25 remains open as a show date on Fowler’s website.

Only reason city offered was they know he’s a big draw and it means $$$$ for them. As for a business man? Who doesn’t get in writing anything from the ALWALYS shady San Angelo higherups ? Is stupid after the BS with the burger trailer joke you’d think everyone would record any and all talks with any of them. So guy just owns the small marina store but not all the land around it? That sounds messed up too I’m still to this day shocked any event or shows happen here at all a old ass coliseum that was old in 1992! Too small too Pft but can’t spend to do new one but can spend how much on a road that will be just as torn up as it is now 6 months after they get done with it? Or wait how about NOT put sapd in a building that is in perfect location and built like a tank and don’t want to spend 10 million to get it where it needs to be? Then put WHAT IN THERE? City permits? Or whatever is in it now. Omg yesnthey need that building Put them in an oil field portable and tell them suck it up! Ok I think I covered and managed to piss off everyone in this rant.

the city of san angelo manages to screw up anything interesting. no wonder people are wanting to leave that place. nothing to do there and way too much in taxes
