HOUSTON, TX-- A report from Reuters identified a San Angelo man as one of those killed in the Midland County pipeline explosion on Wednesday.
Bud Taylor, 63, was named in the report as an employee of Navitas Midstream Partners. Taylor was part of a group of seven people, two firefighters included, responding to a gas leak along one of the company’s lines when it caught fire and caused a series of explosions.
“With profound sadness, we confirm that one of our colleagues injured on August 1, 2018 in the pipeline rupture and fire in Midland County has succumbed to his injuries,” Navitas Chief Executive Bruce Northcutt said on Saturday. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues.”
Taylor was air-lifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock following the blast. He died from his injuries on Friday.
According to Taylor’s Linkden profile, he had worked at Navitas for two years and was a 30-year veteran in the energy industry.

I heard on Saturday that his wife and a friend were critically injured in a wreck with an 18 wheeler while driving to Lubbock to be by his side. This family really needs our prayers.
