EL PASO, TX -- (Press Release) Following his travels to all 254 counties of the state, U.S. Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke released the first ad of his grassroots campaign this morning. Entitled “Showing Up,” the 60 second video is the first Senate ad ever created entirely from live stream footage. It was shot on the campaign’s iPhone that has captured hundreds of public events the Congressman has held over the past 16 months including town halls, rallies, roundtable discussions and runs. Watch the full ad here.

“This campaign is about showing up in every county and every community within every county, talking to everyone, taking no one for granted and writing no one off,” said O’Rourke. “You cannot be too much of a Democrat or too much of a Republican, live in too big of a city or too small of a town for us to show up and fight for you in this campaign and in the years ahead.”
A hallmark of O’Rourke’s transparent no-PAC campaign has been his constant live streaming, which has invited Texans everywhere to join him in the car and follow along as he shows up to listen and learn from those he wants to serve and represent. Each live stream is automatically archived and can be viewed at any time. Today’s new ad features iPhone footage from Lubbock, Fort Worth, El Paso, Dallas, Austin, Georgetown, DeSoto, Waxahachie, San Benito, Bryan, San Marcos, Amarillo, Galveston, Sonora, Houston, San Antonio, Garland, Missouri City, Groveton, Tilden, Laredo, Alice and other towns across the state.
O’Rourke’s first ad launched just three days before he kicks off a 34-day drive across Texas in which he will once again spend all of August on the road so he can continue having open dialogues with Republicans, Democrats, independents and non-voters alike. He will host nearly 100 events in more than 50 cities throughout the state. Each will be live streamed.
The August road trip follows O’Rourke’s announcement that his grassroots campaign raised more than $10.4 million in the second quarter of 2018 without taking a dime from PACs. This was more than two times what Ted Cruz raised in the same period. While bringing in 215,714 contributions in three months, O’Rourke has now outraised Cruz in five FEC reporting periods. New polls also show a single digit race. A summer survey by the University of Texas and the Texas Tribune found O’Rourke within five points of Cruz.

Travelling with good hair and more money doesn't guarantee you to beat Ted Cruz buddy, or hasn't someone told him yet? We know he won't win because he isn't fighting dirty (yet), and that's what make's a difference for the left. Notice how much they are attacking Trump... No proof of collusion over a year and a half into it and 20 Million tax dollars spent, but the media can't shut up about it. It's ok though, we're working on that Rosenstein impeachment, for good reason, he won't reel in a bogus investigation on Trump.
We are learning that the Obama administration approved a grant of $200,000 of taxpayer's money to an Al-Qaeda affiliate in Sudan, a decade after we designated it as a terrorist- financing organization... What a great leader! I'm sure that was great for America!
What else, oh, Hillary- E-mail's... Wait... we said never-mind on that.

Permalinkdoesn't mean a whole lot though considering Cruz's war chest has been in place for a while though right?
he doesn't need to "raise" the funds the way Beto has to begin with. last I saw, Cruz's "total" raised was still more than 500,000 over Beto's. He just hasn't "outraised" him the last few months is all. because he hasn't needed to.
besides which, Beto's top expense (nearly 3.5 million) has been to Revolution Messaging- a failing internet ad company whose biggest claim to fame was helping Sanders in his election attempt. so basically, if you see random Beto ads in places that you normally wouldn't, or people shilling for him where it doesn't make any sense...the odds are, it is indeed not "organic" support, but instead based off an internet ad company trying to get him elected. that's not to say he doesn't have organic support, but its def not entirely realistic either.
though imho, i think Beto's campaign was over the minute he signed HR 5087, the "assault weapons ban".
he really should have thought about that one a bit harder considering he's campaigning in Texas.

PermalinkDon't forget the right wing signature call to arms. Good hair AND better shape. Some of his rally's are jogs through towns and parks on his way to meet more everyday Texans and not just those with deep pockets. Rafael Cruz could care less about meeting them, trump issues orders and the blind base follows. B E N G H A Z I I I I I I. !!!

PermalinkI Forgot, THANKS OBAMA!!

PermalinkDon't thank Obama for Benghazi, Hillary was secretary of defense. If the people you want in office get there and make "change's", I hope you have a decent "war face" when people come to your house and break in, cause you won't have a gun, right? Just scream, OBAMAAAAAAA! and throw your propaganda pamphlet's in the air! You can just run away like Batman in the confusion.

PermalinkLead slug from one is what anyone who enters without permission gets. Oh I forgot the Dems took my guns(can you even own one). Another thing, no matter what trump tells you, Mrs. Clinton was never Secretary of Defence.

PermalinkI'm surprised you believe in defense, thought you might want to "fluff" someone to death... The N.I.C.S. system has approved me 6 or more time's, so I would imagine I'm able to own more than one. Don't worry though, it's a common misconception that tattooed people who have been to jail and prison can't own weapon's legally! You should read Texas Penal Code's... Ex-Con's of many sort's can own firearms... The stipulation's are in black and white.
While Beto's running around Texas, real work will be getting done, by folk's who don't want to limit your firearm right's, like pushing for Rosenstein's impeachment.
So here's a question... If an illegal immigrant is the one who breaks in your home, do you shoot?
- Log in or register to post comments
PermalinkNot sure what kind of ex-con you are. Even trump authorised Russians will be fired upon if they enter with out permission. Period. It's a common misconception that free thinking Americans want to do away with gun rights. How many guns did Hillary and Obama take from you?

PermalinkTypical, ask a liberal a question, get another instead of an answer.
The question stands....Do you shoot the poor, downtrodden, still wet from the crossing, carrying a backpack full of llello, illegal alien when he breaks into your home?
It's a simple Y or N.

PermalinkSalty...
I did a gun count, and I still have all five of mine... including the semi-auto handguns. I guess Obama and Hillary missed my street.
And you are quite right, as usual, when you said Hillary was not Secretary of Defense.
Finally, although I'm sure you know this, the attempted impeachment of Rosenstein is a fool's errand. Just look at the clowns pushing it. Dershowitz and Napolitano agree, and they are not exactly anti-Trump.

PermalinkI'm sure you don't read the law Salty... Read the penal code, don't dismiss those portion's that talk about criminal history just because you don't have one. I'm not sure how many people have a history and end up getting approved for ownership of a gun, but I am willing to bet those number's are quite slim, I am proud to be in their ranks.
You're right about one thing though, liberal socialist's don't wish to take our gun's away, they only seek to legislate them in to uselessness. Deerefield Illinois' AR ban is a prime example.
Secretary of state... Sorry about that, I don't usually make those kind of mistake's.
EckSpat... Would you rather justify the continued waste of taxpayer's dollars to further an investigation that has come up with nothing? For God's sake man, we've got the F.B.I. looking into it, it's not some backwood's, low-tech operation we're talking about... Over a year and a half, and not one single shred of evidence has come through. Rod should have called off Mueller, but instead, he chose to drag it out and appoint him head of a special unit to investigate "NOTHING". As much as he is hated, if there was anything there, we'd have found it and Trump would be outta there! Fat chance! Even fatter than Rosenstein being impeached!

PermalinkThe law is the law. I asked a simple question, can you even own a gun? You frothed and did the hive dance. I followed up with "don't know what kind of ex-con you are". Your assumption that I didn't know the law fell on its face. The Texas penal code allows, in some cases, for a felon to own a firearm where they reside, but only after five years from the time of their conviction. I just wasn't sure if you were fresh out of the big house.

PermalinkDepend's on what crime it was, there are some exclusion's and also, for "some" charges it's 5 years, typically for misdemeanors, felonies... 10 years. The law allows much more than to only have it where you reside as well.
Fall on your own face Salty, I'm 10 years on the "straight and narrow".

PermalinkWhen you take a look at what Beto's stance is on the issue's, you may be a little less impressed with him than when you look at his iphone video's, or when you see him jogging. He's pro-choice, anti-AR-15, pro-weed, and thinks that people should get free healthcare... Just another Joe who think's the government knows what's best for the people. Of course they will allot us some pot to smoke if it keeps us from asking question's or reaching for our gun.

PermalinkIf a man wants to hurt a child, you say he's a scumbag and deserves punishment, but you turn the other way, when a man with a nice smile and a suit support's the killing of human babies that are yet to be born, you say he's a good man and you will support him.
Cruz didn't lie about his position on abortion.

PermalinkFunny thing, this "clean cut" guy, has a pretty dirty history... I didn't know you could run for office with a D.W.I. on your record, or a charge of breaking and entering, as well as attempted burglary.
Don't forget the tax fraud his mom committed with her store that he had stake in... In fact, she didn't close the store until just before Beto began to run.

PermalinkYou seem to think I agree with his stance on abortion. Its a sin. Just like causing the misery in separating children from mothers. trump is an adulterer, do you approve of adultery? Attacking O'Rourke's mother is as wrong as folks attacking rafael's sister for overdosing on drugs and dying.
But those things are not central to gaining my vote. Good schools, clean air and water, good infrastructure, affordable health care. Washington swamp creatures are what is destroying America. Another thing trump and I agree with, but alas, replaced the swamp with a cesspool.

PermalinkVery "radical" claim of you Salty... Watch it, or you might end up bordering on "extremism".
Trump has a point, we need to stop letting the "culture" change us... We need to be changing the culture. "Culture", as defined, can mean a "way of life, shared by people in a place or time"... It's only definition when used isn't "race".
Call it what you want, as I'm sure you will, but I'm all about changing the "culture"... I don't want my kid to grow up and aspire to be a "rapper", so he can talk bad about women and glorify drug use and violence for an audience of "million's" of young and impressionable people...
I remember watching Obama's visit to a high school somewhere... And he told the kid's, as an encouragement, that one of them could be the next "Lil' Wayne"... That's what our President, at the time, said to a group of kids... Now, these impressionable minds just heard the President of the United States of America, pretty much endorse kiddo's pursuing "rapping like Wayne", as a career choice.
That's why we need to change the culture!

PermalinkThat one flew right over your head. I'd encourage a rapper over the "very fine people" (NAZIS) that trump praised.
BTW, your alternative facts are silly.
" Obama was addressing a crowd of youngsters in Powder Springs about the importance of staying in school.
Talking about dropping out of school to pursue a music or basketball career, Obama said: “You are probably not that good a rapper. Maybe you are the next Lil Wayne, but probably not, in which case you need to stay in school.”

PermalinkThe call to arms. All the investigation found was nothing could have saved the folks in that compound. Trey Gowdy, the Benghazi Czar, even announced it on fox noose. "Benghazi loser Gowdy", is how trump refered to him. It was also made public that the GOP led congress cut funding for security at locations like Benghazi since 2010. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) made the remark about priorities, and having to make priorities and choices. Its funny, that stuff never gets brought up.
