SAN ANGELO, TX — On March 8, San Angelo Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit was investing the death of a 21-month-old child. Nathan Quezada was found unresponsive by San Angelo Fire Department Medics at a house in the 2600 block of Junius.
Nathan’s death is now confirmed as a homicide after the autopsy was returned. The causes of death were “multiple vertebral fractures and blunt impact trauma.”
The preliminary findings were three “vertebral fractures, spinal epidural hemorrhage, cerebral edema, healed fracture of left femur, and cutaneous contusions.”
No arrests have been made but the investigation is ongoing.

Are the results of the autopsy just not being released?! And why has there not been an arrest?! Special place in hell for losers that do this to children!

Permalinkreading this story on another site seems to indicate the boy had some sort of bone disease where he sustained breaks and bruising a lot easier and more frequently than other kids (this was confirmed by the autopsy as well apparently)
so it could be possible that the kid's dad, who tried giving him CPR when he found his boy non-responsive, accidentally caused more damage while trying to save him. which is pretty awful and sad.

PermalinkBullcarp... I did not misspell that. When a medical examiner performs an autopsy and comes back saying that they suspect homicide, it's because they found sufficient evidence of foul play.

and homicide doesn't necessarily mean foul play either. If the kid had this disease, and was non-responsive, at which point the dad tried to administer CPR, he could've broken more bones unintentionally (you are supposed to push pretty hard during CPR). so tragically, the dad may indeed have caused more damage than he meant and killed the boy while he was trying to resuscitate him...
that's assuming this is how it actually played out of course. im just going off what the other article states directly regarding the autopsy and the boy having that disease.

PermalinkThe little boy had a leg fracture that had healed from a previous injury. And why does a two year old have osteopenia?! If his stepfather is the one in the judicial records - WOW! Scary!
