BIG SPRING, TX — No one was hurt in Howard County after a rig caught fire several miles north of Big Spring, according to CBS 7.
Howard County Volunteer Fire Chief Mitchell Hooper said that crews were called out to County Road 50 and County Road 19 around 8:40 a.m. for a report of a rig fire. The fire was put out as of 12:43 p.m.
Fire crews from Lamesa brought in water and personnel from Martin County assisted in putting out the fire.
No injuries were reported. No news on the cause of the fire yet.

I'd be willing to bet my last dollar that it was H2S that caused the fire.

PermalinkAw heck, both of em', I don't see any other cause for a rig to burn down. I worked drilling rig's for a while, never saw one burn the whole rig down that wasn't H2S.
