Man Arrested After Paternity Test Shows He Impregnated A Minor

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man was arrested yesterday for sexual assault of a child. Darrell Keith Ussery Jr., 33, was arrested July 5 for an ongoing sexual relationship with a juvenile female in 2006.

According to court documents, Darrell and the victim were communicating via Myspace. The victim told police that she and Darrell first met at the Sonic on Beauregard Ave. At the time, the victim was a sophomore at Central High School and she was 15-years-old. Darrell was 21-years-old when the two were involved in the relationship.

The victim told SAPD investigators that Darrell would pick her up from her home and school occasionally to engage in sexual intercourse at his home, in his vehicle, and at local parks. The documents state the two engaged in “mutual sex.”

The victim gave birth to a son in June 2007 and the court ordered paternity test indicated that Darrell Ussery Jr. was the father of the victims baby in May 2008.

Darrell was arrested at 12:28 p.m. on Thursday and released Friday July 6 at 10:58 a.m. on a $30,000 bond. Sexual assault of a child in a Second Degree Felony.

UPDATE:

The charge was dismissed following a no contest pre trial diversion.

So, why if they proved he was the father in 2008, did it take them 10 more years to do anything. Maybe I'm reading this wrong. It's not like the victim came forward 10 years later because they realized that their is no statute of limitations all of a sudden. The court ordered paternity test proved he was the father in '08, so why ten years to do anything?

Couldn't be that... Once they realized he was the father, they would have known he was guilty of a crime back in '08... He never would have made it to paying child support.

There's something missing from the story.

Gross.

This story is definitely not providing the missing details... Don't really care for any more detail on the actual offense though Mr. "Big"... Just how he wasn't charged for it over a span of 10 years.

Joking about sexual abuse, willingly participated in or otherwise, isn't funny... It just isn't.

It says he was arrested for the charge of. It doesn't state when he was convicted of the charge and the warrant was issued. He was probably charged with it 10 years ago, warrant issued then, went into hiding and just now was found and arrested. You people would be amazed at how many times this happens. It's not that these people aren't being looked for just some people are really good at hiding. It also doesn't state who started him. He could have been arrested out of state and brought back here for the charge. He could have even been in prison all the this time, TGC would have placed a hold on him to bring him here once he was finished with his sentence in prison. You just wouldn't believe how often this happens. The media dose not know everything and leaves out A LOT!!!!!!!!

You might want to check actual facts before you make such broad assumptions about someone of whom you obviously know NOTHING!
