Abilene Martial Arts Instructor Breaks Own World Record

ORLANDO, FL-- An Abilene taekwondo instructor broke his own world record over the weekend, KTXS reports.

Chip Townsend competed in the U.S. Open World Martial Arts Championship this past Saturday in Orlando, which was televised on ESPN.

While at the competition, Townsend used his bare foot to break 23 of 24 patio bricks. The 23 broken bricks bested his previous record of 21.

Breaking things isn’t new to Townsend, as he broke the record for breaking baseball bats in 2016.

Martial art's are awesome... Nobody know's that you know them until they've already messed up and had to find out the hard way. There's definately a certain kind of confidence that you get, when you know you can kick somebody's head... Not too many "thugs" are prepared for that.

I gave a kid a concussion in MMA class when I was a teen... We were sparring and I was losing, the guy was 2 belt's above my skill level, so I went to kick him in the head, he leaned the other way, which exposed his neck, rather than his padded headgear... I was disqualified for it, but oh well... I'm just glad it didn't hurt him any more than that.

I've tried the street/jailhouse, toe 2 toe, blow for blow, boxing... Never again, for the rest of my life, I will simply kick the poo out of anyone trying to box me... Screw honor in combat, I don't owe my opponent anything, I owe it to my family to win at any cost if threatened with harm.
