Fire at Brown's Pool

Thank God for volunteer firemen should have been what the owner of Brown's Pool said. The privately-owned pool is located just north of where N. Bryant Blvd. and N. Chadboure St. merge on the north side of San Angelo.

In one of the buildings in the back, a welder caught fire and could have spread more. That's when the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. and Quail Valley Volunteer Fire Dept. volunteers were called to quickly extinguish the small fire, keeping it from spreading.

Upon arrival I could smell smoke in the air and the neighbors on their front porch said the fire was in a utility building next to the pool.

In the end, the fire was out and no one was hurt.
