West Texas Congressman Arrington Introduces Legislation for Congressional Term Limits

ABILENE, TX -- Congressman Jodey Arrington of Lubbock on Thursday introduced legislation in Washington D.C. that would enact a long time issue for grassroots Republicans.  Arrington represents the 19th Congressional District of Texas and joined five other U.S. Congressmen introducing term limits for members of Congress.

KTXS’ Will Jensen interviewed Arrington via skype today.  The term limit legislation would limit Congressmen and Senators to 12 years of service each.  That would be two terms for Senators and six terms for Congressmen.

Arrington and his colleagues cited the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which limits the President of the United States to two terms.

Congressional term limits have long been a plank in the Republican Party of Texas Platform and the platform of the National Republican Party.

Congressman Arrington joined Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Mike Gallagher (R-WI), Ro Khanna (D-CA), Vincent Gonzalez (R-TX) and Greg Gianforte (R-MT) introduced the legislation on Thursday morning.

Good luck on that. Our illustrious Mr Conaway has said the voting box is our term limits. He bristles up every time he is asked about the subject
