SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo police announced Monday afternoon that they have arrested the fourth suspect in the case of the vandalized “Paintbrush Alley” case.
According to the police, three police reports were filed with them from anonymous “outraged citizens.” It was video surveillance footage that helped them identify the suspects, police said.
Police noted that the defacements of the art on the walls of the historic downtown San Angelo buildings included religious murals.
All four suspects face charges of State Jail Felony Criminal Mischief Graffiti. Police identified them as Zzyzx Benjamin Anglin, Jr., 18, Michael E. Combs,18, Brycen Canion, 19, and Ingrid Macias, 18.
The news of the vandalism at Paintbrush Alley first broke here two Sundays ago. Other news outlets followed suit. Citizens began sending in anonymous tips to us and the police department.
Anglin and Combs posted a $10,000 bond on March 3 and were released from jail. Macias posted bail on March 4. Canion was arrested at 11:01 a.m. and jail records show him still in jail with a $10,000 bond,

PermalinkWhat happened to all of the paintings in that alley of Martin Luther and of Moses smashing a golden calf? It's weird, because now that this has happened, I'm not sure that any such paintings were ever there. Ever.
