GoFundMe Page Raises $21,000 for Texas Girl Bitten by Rattlesnake

Granite Shoals, TX -- A 5-year-old Central Texas girl is recovering in an Austin hospital from a rattlesnake bite last Sunday.

According to the GoFundMe page, Emily Rose Oehler was bitten by a rattlesnake at the Longhorn Caverns State Park near Burnet, Tx.  The girl’s mother, Alicia said, “My youngest daughter was bit by a rattlesnake we have no insurance or paid leave please help me and my husband be with her through this . The money you donate will go to child care living expenses, food at the hospital it will also allow my husband to stay with us at the hospital without digging a bigger financial hole. And help through the time of her recovery physical therapy it will also help with anything the charities of the hospital did not cover and any unseen bills or things we will need for her and any other way we see fit to improve the quality of life for our daughter.”

According to the family, they tried to take her off the anti-venom last night, but she relapsed and they had to start the drip again.  

Emily is the youngest of four children.  Granite Shoals is about three hours east of San Angelo. Longhorn Caverns State Park is near Buchanan Dam in Central Texas.
