Driver Arrested for Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Officials with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s office report this evening that a black Chevy Colorado pickup struck a tree and the home owner in the 700 block of Black Bear Lane just east of San Angelo off of FM388.  

Law enforcement officers located the suspect vehicle near highway 208 and 50th St. in San Angelo.  The suspect driving the Colorado, Lucas Alcantar, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The Sheriff’s Office will release more information on this story Thursday.

SAN ANGELO, TX -- On October 4, 2017 at 6:03pm, Deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 700 Block of Blackbear Lane for an aggravated assault with a vehicle.  While enroute Deputies learned the vehicle involved in the incident had fled the scene.  

The vehicle was described as a 2007 Black four door Chevrolet Colorado truck.

Deputy at the scene learned Lucas Alcantar was the individual driving the fleeing vehicle.  Information gathered at the scene indicated the homeowner and Alcantar had an argument just prior to the hit and run incident.

LucasAlcantar then entered his vehicle and accelerated in the direction of the homeowner.  Alcantar collided with a tree on the property before striking the homeowner with his vehicle.

Alcantar fled the scene and traveled down HWY 208.  Deputies dispatched to the area located the fleeing vehicle at HWY 208 and 50th street where Alcantar was taken into custody.   Evidence located on the vehicle was constant with the evidence located at the scene of the assault.

The homeowner was transported to Angelo Community ER by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Lucas Alcantar, 45, of San Angelo was arrested for Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon and transported to Tom Green County Jail without incident.

I admit that I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but when I read the headline, I was, well, confused.

Since when does an inanimate object (Chevy Colorado pickup) perform the action of 'attacking' a homeowner and a tree?
