SAPD Welcomes 2 New Officers to Their Family

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The San Angelo Police Department welcomed two new officers to their ranks Wednesday.

Officers Daniel Welch and Marius Cobb are joining the SAPD family to serve the community they are both familiar with and care about.

“It is always exciting to welcome new members to the SAPD family. Expanding the team is good for the Department as well as the community.  We are blessed with these two, as both have prior public safety experience,” Tracy Gonzalez, Public Information Officer for SAPD, stated.

Both officers were sworn in by SAPD Chief of Police Frank Carter.

Welch is returning to the San Angelo Police Department after being employed by the Concho County Sheriff’s Department for a little over a year.  Welch was employed with SAPD for 5 years before he went to the CCSO.

Cobb's was employed as a civilian firefighter at Goodfellow Air Force Base and put himself through the Concho Valley Council of Governments Law Enforcement Academy, where he graduated in May of 2017 and was awarded his Texas Peace Officers License.
