92 Indicted in June: Three Related to Heinous Sex Crimes

SAN ANGELO, TX — In the month of June, 92 individuals were indicted by a Grand Jury. Of those 92, three were indicted for various sex crimes. In an official list of all June indictments, it shows that Alegandro Herman Fevala, who was released on July 7 on a $500,000 personal recognizance bond by Judge Goodwin because he had not been formally indicted within 90 days for his charges of Aggravated Kidnapping and Sexual Assault, was formally indicted 104 days after he was charged - fourteen days late.

Fevala was charged with one count of aggravated kidnapping and sexual abuse and two counts of sexual assault after he  forcibly took a 17-year-old female from a residence on North Haven CT to a residence in the 1300 block of Jefferson Street on March 19 of this year. There, according to court documents, Fevala choked the 17 year old female and drugged her before removing her clothes against her will and sexually assaulting her multiple times until she passed out. When the young female woke up, Fevala continued to violently sexually assault her.

It wasn’t until Fevala went to the bathroom that the female was able to find her phone, which Fevala had confiscated previously, dress herself and escape from the residence.

At around 9 a.m. that Sunday morning, the San Angelo Police Department received information about a possible kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor. Upon hearing the events and trauma the female had endured, members of the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division were summoned to conduct an investigation. During the investigation, investigators were able to identify Fevala who allegedly made contact with the victim after creating a fake social media account using the identity of one of the victim’s friends. Court documents show that the female had trouble with Fevala stalking her in the past. Fevala was arrested and booked into the county jail.

However, just four months later, the honorable Judge Brad Goodwin was forced to release Fevala on a $500,000 personal recognizance bond, as Fevala had not been officially indicted on his charges within 90 days of being in custody, a state law.

Fevala was released to his mother’s address and is not allowed within 1,000 feet of the 17-year-old female or her family, nor is he allowed to communicate directly or indirectly with minor or her family. Fevala shares custody of his children and will be living with nieces and nephews. Goodwin allowed Fevala to be around those specific children but no others.  Fevala’s attorney Stephanie Goodman told the court that Fevala has a job in Big Lake and asked for the court’s permission for him to travel to-and-from work, Goodwin agreed to the condition.  Fevala is not allowed to drink alcohol, consume drugs, or go to bars and will be tested weekly for alcohol use.

Two other males were indicted for sex crime related charges. Eric John Pedroza was indicted on June 30 of this year for three counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child: sexual contact. Pedroza allegedly committed these crimes in June of 2016.

Court documents show that Pedroza is accused of sexually assaulting a female under the age of 17. Pedroza posted bail amounting to $25,000 three days after he was formally indicted. He is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing in late August.

Chad Moran Lavere was indicted on June 29th for failing in his duty to register as a sex offender.

In February of 2000, Lavere sexually assaulted a female under the age of 14. Lavere was sentenced to seven years in the Texas Department of Corrections for his crime. In March of this year, an officer with the San Angelo Police Department in charge of performing sex offender contacts attempted to contact Lavere in his last known residence on February. However, when the officer went to the residence another resident informed the officer that Lavere was no longer a resident of the house. After several attempts to locate Lavere, an incident report was made in late March. In May, the same officer attempted to contact Lavere again but Lavere was still not at his last known residence.

Lavere last updated his residence information in August of 2016. Lavere is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing in late August.

Almost half of the individuals indicted in the month of June were for the charge of possession of a controlled substance. For the full list of all the individuals indicted in June, please click here.

Man our District Attorneys office is on the ball aren't they?! Three violent offenders released in the last week because the DA dropped the ball! Perfect!

Does anyone manufacture a 90 day count down timer ? Sort of like a giant kitchen timer ? If so, a Go Fund Me page needs to be set up so a couple of them can be bought and placed on the 2 elected District Attorneys desks so that they can remember why we voted them into their respective positions and so they can make sure to do their jobs of overseeing that legal justice is served properly and in a timely fashion.......

i am so sick of our county being so lax with sex offenders!!! oh they are not where they are supposed to be lets go back 3 months later and see if he shows up!!! put a crime stoppers message in and tell them where they are at, they visit them and say just go get registered in the town you are living in now , lets ignore the warrent we have on you!!! i know this by person experience!
