Teenager Arrested in Connection With Killing of 18-Year-Old

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS -- Xavior R. Arzola, 19, of San Angelo, has been charged with Manslaughter in connection to the 18-year-old male found dead inside a residence in the 1800 block of Edmund early this morning. The 18-year-old has been identified as Victor Omar Duarte, a resident of  San Angelo.

Just after 5:30 a.m. this morning, San Angelo Police were dispatched to a residence located in the 1800 block of Edmund Boulevard for the report of a shooting victim.  Police located Duarte, deceased, inside the residence and learned from a witness that several occupants fled the residence after the shooting.

Members of the Department’s Patrol Division, Street Crimes Division, and Criminal Investigations Division worked through the morning to identify and locate the occupants present during the incident. Arzola was located in the 2200 block of Raney Street.

Subsequent to the ongoing investigation and witness accounts, Detectives learned Duarte was inside the residence with Arzola and several other occupants when Arzola recklessly handled a firearm and caused it to discharge and strike Duarte.  

Drug usage is believed to have played a role in this morning’s reckless shooting.  This is an active investigation and no additional information will be released at this time.

Facebook posts of love and condolences have been flooding in on Duarte's profile page and a gofundme page has been set up for Duarte's family. The description box reads: "Omar was one of the sweetest people anyone had ever met. He always had a positive attitude, a loving vibe, and one simple smile from him could fix your entire day. Omar was the type of person you could go to about anything, and he would make sure to help you. He always put others before him and kept his strong faith in the lord. Unfortunately, Omar was called home by the lord and as we each go through this difficult time, I would like us all to come together on this account for Omar's family. Any donations help and prayers mean the most."

I blame the parents! It is the parents job to be-stow into a child values and the importance of responsibility. This is clearly a child who's parents did not give a f**k...like most parents of these "millennials"...oh god..we are screwed.....won't be surprised the shooter is son of some asshole business owner here in town...for sure!

Regardless of the sins of the fathers the fact is that a mother is going to have to bury her child. Horrible tragedy! Maybe we can try to be kind?

I read your post and I agree with what you said. We can all be kind which is why I responded to Rebecca Lujan's post regarding my action. It was NOT the sins of his father but the sins of his cousins and I hope I was able clear that up. I hope you have a good day and God Bless

OMAR was like a son to me and Raymond was like a dad to my kids , what you said here is not only cruel but it's uncalled for , you want to be honest print your name out here like everyone else . OMAR was a great kid with a bright future and Raymond Duarte has always been a great father figure to him and Raymond is a hard working man. You had no right to put other people's business or here that have NOTHING WHAT'S SO EVER TO DO WITH OMAR AND HIS DEATH . You are a cruel person and I hope you don't have children and you have to someday go thru what we are going thru . I will pray that God forgives you for this public humiliation you have made of yourself.

OMAR was like a son to me , sounds to me like you had a lot to do with drug trafficking yourself and your soon to be ex made you mad that you had to retaliate on the Duarte family like this..Raymond Duarte was like a father to my kids a hard working man and omar had a bright future ahead . you had no right to be cruel to the family because of something someone else has done wrong to you. IT WAS NOT ONLY CRUEL BUT YOU PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE saying soon to be ex husband you must be on drugs because who would be cruel and brutal enough to do this . I pray you never have to go though this if you have children what Raymond is going thru and the rest of the family is heartbreaking . May God forgive you and I pray the cops catch you if you are trafficking from Colorado how else would you know if you yourself weren't doing it. May my omar R.I.P

I agree that I was out of line when I said "the duarte family is FULLY involved" which obviously gave the assumption that I was referring to the entire duarte family which was wrong on my part. If it would help, I can be a little more specific. Tina marie duarte. stevie duarte. moses duarte ( will admit i have also seen him actually try to do good by his own willingness ), frank duarte. THESE are the members of the duarte family that I was referring to in my previous comment who are also brothers and sister. I do apologize for not being more specific from the start. Now, as for ME putting MY soon to be ex husband's "business" for the world to read is MY choice. He who shall not be fully exposed for these wrongs is aware of the reasons for our pending divorce in which his "socializing" with the names mentioned earlier had a small hand in this case. You had mentioned that "I must be on drugs"....let me inform you that if I were on drugs like the subjects mentioned above....I most likey would not be getting a divorce and protecting my kids from that enviroment. I hope I was able to clear up any concerns and answer any questions that you may have had. My condolences for The Duarte Family's loss and may God rest his soul. Have a god day. God Bless

From the Duarte family, OMAR has uncles who are attorneys and they are looking into this and wanted me to tell you that you that this is gonna be investigated to the fullest extent and you will be found and then you will be sued for slander. That came from his uncle Raymond Duarte.

at 5:30 in the morning they were just planning their daily activity of helping the community and making themselves better people. Surely it wasn't drugs or anything like that for these fine young pillars of society.
