ABILENE, TX--The husband of an Abilene woman convicted of severely starving her child pleaded guilty Wednesday. This was part of a plea deal trial by jury for a first-degree felony.
“James Mayhall, 51, entered in an open plea for an injury to a child charge stemming from an investigation in early 2016 that found his daughter severely malnourished to the point of being near death,” stated KTXS in Abilene.
Mayhall's daughter was rushed to the hospital on Jan. 4, 2016 because she stopped breathing. Doctors alerted authorities when they noticed the baby was very underweight. Mayhall, his wife, and two other people who resided in their house were arrested a month later.
Evangelia Mayhall, James’ wife, was found guilty of first-degree felony injury to a child in March and sentenced to 50 years in prison.
KTXS reported that during her trial, a doctor testified that Mayhall’s daughter was the most malnourished she had ever seen.

Six years? For sitting there in that house and watching what went on and not making g a move to do anything about that starving child? If he gets TDC he'll be out after 1/3 of his time and they'll put the moron simp animal on parole to be out among SanAngelo again. From the look of him in the picture he doesn't look like he went without any meals either ..He should have gotten the same time as the woman.I think he's even more culpable for his passive involvement.
