Two Crashes on Loop 306 Slow Traffic at College Hills & Southwest Blvd

SAN ANGELO, TX – Two crashes on Loop 306 slowed traffic during rush hour Wednesday afternoon.

LIVE! reporters on the scene saw a minor two vehicle wreck near Chili’s on the overpass at Southwest Blvd.  While San Angelo Police Officers were working that wreck, the second wreck occurred on the Loop 306 overpass at College Hills Blvd.

Investigating Patrol Officer Travis Griffith said a white van pulling a trailer was traveling west on Loop 306 that was struck from behind by a 2004 gray Ford F-350. The resulting crash caused the loop to be closed for a short period of time.  The driver of the F-350 was cited for failure to control speed.  There were no reported injuries.

Failure to control speed usually means tailgating in San Angelo.

Simple physics says that if you are following too close your reaction time is too slow to allow you to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of you. The faster you are going the larger the distance you should have between you and the vehicle in front of you. The standard is usually interpreted as one car length for every ten miles an hour that you are travelling .

Duhhhhh!!!!!
