SAN ANGELO, TX—Freebirds World Burrito restaurant at 3204 Sherwood Way closed abruptly Monday. A guy working there, who did not want to be identified, said, “Call our marketing department.”
Freebirds until today appeared to be a popular eatery in the Commons Shopping Center. By the time we stopped by late Monday afternoon, the Freebirds signs were removed from the building and a group of employees were seen loading up all the tables, chairs, and kitchen equipment. LIVE! has a call in to the corporate office and will update this story.
UPDATE: May 22, 2017, at 6:00 p.m.
San Angelo Freebirds' website had only a few sentences written across their page, “Sorry, We’re Closed. Thank you for your loyalty. We hope to see you at another Freebirds restaurant.”
A sign on the abandoned store door reads, “Sorry, We’re Closed! It’s never an easy decision to close one of our restaurants. We hope to see you at one of our other restaurants soon.”

Usually when they start moving things out is that the owner hasnt paid his bills or is moving to a cheaper location, rent is getting too high for new small business owners to survive
