10-Year-Old Struck by a Car on Kansas Ave.

SAN ANGELO, TX — A 10-year-old child was playing in the street and ran out in front of a moving red Ford. He was struck in the 1700 block of Kansas Ave. early this evening.

Police and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene. The child suffered what appeared to be a head injury, a laceration to the head, and was transported to an area hospital for observation. According to witnesses at the scene, the child was talking and responsive.

“Our kids play out here all the time, and we tell them to watch for traffic,” a neighbor said. The police said the Ford was traveling well below the posted speed limit according to their investigation.

Because the incident involved a juvenile with injuries, a police traffic investigator will conduct an investigation. No citations were issued.

It doesn't matter whether in Wall, Christoval or anywhere. STREETS are for cars, not for KIDS !!! When a child is killed, you'll be screaming "how did this happen?" -- answer- ALLOWING your kids to PLAY in the street. Yards are for play. If a kid is in the street anything can happen.

Really Big Daddy? Attempted murder? By that same thinking, we can charge you and Dr. Numbnuts with being bigiots (bigot idiots, FYI).
Heck, I'm 60 and still play in the street occasionally. Ride my bike, walk my dog, talk with the neighbors, etc. A streets main purpose is not just for cars; look it up.
Wall, Christoval, San Angelo or wherever, the responsibility still lies with the person operating the two ton machine.
Show me a kid that will stay in the yard and I will see a kid that has no life... or will of his own.
