Runaway 9-Year-Old Found Near Train Tracks

Nine-year-old Nicholas Sanchez ran away earlier this afternoon, instigating a multi-agency search for the boy near Community Hospital. The San Angelo Police Department received the call for the child at circa 2:25 p.m., and he was located just after 5 p.m. near train tracks at 3177 Executive Dr. in San Angelo.

Officials said that this is not the first time this child has run away.

Assisting in the search were US Customs and Border Protection (commonly referred to by its former name, the US Border Patrol), San Angelo Police and Texas DPS. An official from Texas Pacifico arrived after the Nixle Alert to check the scene to correpsond with police, whom he notified that a train was scheduled to arrive 25 minutes later.

The agencies involved in the search responded with what resources they had available and worked together to find the boy, who was located near train tracks, uninjured.

The boy has been returned to his parents.

Reporting advice, try to get it right. US Customs and Border Protection is NOT "AKA Border Patrol" CBP is comprised of the Office of Border Patrol, Field Operations and Air and Marine. Your incorrect statement should have read..."Assisting in the search were agents from US Customs and Border Protections Office of Border Patrol as well as Air agents."

Everything published herein was provided by officials in order to enhance the chances of the boy being found.

If it were my kid I would want every detail I could get put out there in hopes of finding him.
