SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man and two females were arrested this evening for a stolen gun, drugs and outstanding warrants at Stripes, located at 2701 Sunset Drive. The arrests are the result of an investigation into shots fired calls that came in after 8:30 p.m.
Sgt. Barry Wike, with the San Angelo Police Lake Division, said police received a few calls for shots fired near the walking area at the KOA by Hillside and Gun Club Road.
Officers went to check, and based on the description of the vehicle, which was a dark blue SUV, Sgt. Wike stopped the vehicle that matched the description.
Originally, the vehicle was spotted on Knickerbocker; officers followed the SUV to the Stripes where the stop was made.
“A gun was found in the vehicle,” said Officer Wike. “The person with the gun, who fired the shots, is going to jail for unlawful carrying [and] drug charges. The driver and the other passenger, both females, had city warrants. They’re both going to jail.”
Sgt. Wike said the gun was in plain view, and a backup officer found it on the seat of the vehicle. Sgt. Wike said the gun was reported stolen.
Narcotics were also found on the male, but Sgt. Wike could not specify the type (s) found at this time.
Additionally, he could not release the names of the suspects pending the investigation. However, the three individuals were transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
