SAPD Reports Multiple Vehicle Burglaries in North San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - Today, the San Angelo Police Department reported that officers responded to several calls for vehicle burglaries that occurred sometime during the night. Thus far, the targeted area is the 200-400 blocks of E. 45th-42nd Streets and Orchard.

Suspects took a gun, purses, cash, social security cards and credit cards from various vehicles.

"Police are reporting that the victims left their vehicles unlocked," said SAPD. 

Officials added that they expect additional reports to come in as the day progresses. 

"If you find that you have been victimized, please do not go through the car to determine what has been stolen until after you are instructed to by the responding officer, otherwise you could be contaminating our ability to locate fingerprints or other evidence," said SAPD.

Also, for people who live near the targeted areas and have surveillance video that could help SAPD identify the suspect(s), please call (325) 481-2696.

Vehicle burglary is a crime of opportunity. Citizens are urged to hide their things, lock their vehicles, and not to leave keys in their vehicles.

My truck was one of the vehicles that was broken into and it was locked up tight and had lights shining on it. There were several around the base area that the same thing happened to. This happened over a week ago and I haven't heard one word from the SAPD if anyone was caught. This seems to a problem that is only getting worse. Something has to be done about this and quick.
