SAN ANGELO, TX - This past holiday weekend, 35-year-old Christopher Edward Noland suffered a stab wound after he forced his way into a home in the 1100 block of E. 24th St.
Officer Tracy Gonzalez, public information officer for the San Angelo Police Department, said, at around 4:00 a.m. on September 5, 2016, officers were dispatched to the residence for the report of a stabbing. Police entered the residence and located a man who was bleeding from an apparent stab wound to the shoulder blade. The officers administered life-saving measures utilizing a department issued SAM Chest Seal before Medics arrived. The man, identified as Noland, was transported to Shannon Medical Center by ambulance where he was admitted and treated for a collapsed lung.
"During the field investigation, officers learned Noland had come to the residence and forced his way in by kicking through a door," said Gonzalez. "The residence was occupied by Noland’s 38-year-old girlfriend, the woman’s 16-year-old daughter and two acquaintances. Once inside, Noland retrieved a baseball bat and began to approach the occupants in a threatening manner. The women retreated for safety and called 9-1-1 as Noland reportedly began to destroy furniture and assault one of the woman’s acquaintances, a 26-year-old San Angelo man. After the assault, the male victim retrieved a knife and stabbed Noland. Investigators determined the man stabbed Noland in self-defense, as well as to prevent Noland from harming the women. No charges were filed."
Gonzalez added that while Noland was still in the hospital, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Burglary of a Habitation with the Intent to Commit Assault. It was learned later that Noland left the hospital prior to his official discharge.
At around 11:00 p.m. last night, police were dispatched back to the residence on E. 24th for the report of an unwanted subject. While en route, officials learned Noland had returned to the residence; however, he did not make entry.
"Police located Noland in the area, and it was determined Noland was in need of medical attention for his previous injuries," said Gonzalez. "He was transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment. After his release from medical care, Noland was transported to the Tom Green County Jail, where he remains on $20,000 Bond."
