Man Kicks Cop, Gets Two Years Prison

Today, in the Honorable Judge Barbara Walther courtroom, Vincent Royce Salcedo pleaded “guilty” to the Assault of a Public Servant With Injury.

According to court documents, on August 1, 2015, Vincent Royce Salcedo "intentionally, knowingly, and recklessly" caused bodily injury to Jason Hernandez, a public servant with the San Angelo Police Department.

Originally, Officer Hernandez was the investigating officer at an accident on 217 West Avenue U, when Salcedo began to interfere with the investigation. He appeared to be intoxicated. Salcedo walked into the roadway and tried to take pictures of the scene.

Officer Hernandez tried to place Salcedo under arrest, but he began to resist while walking to the patrol vehicle.

Salcedo then kicked his right foot backwards striking Officer Hernandez’s left knee, causing it to hyperextend and causing him severe pain.

This afternoon, Salcedo gave up his rights and pleaded “guilty” to the assault. For his crime, Assistant D.A. Ashley Knight recommended two years in prison.

No one protested the recommendation, and Judge Walther ended the hearing by stating, “I find you guilty of the assault of a public servant with injury and you will serve two years in prison with no restitution. Good luck to you sir.”

After the hearing, Salcedo was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.

Pretty sight , isn't it? Two years is very generous for this tough guy! He should have gotten 5 years, as should his brother who I believe was also involved in the incident? You mess with the bull you're gonna get the horn! "DON'T MESS WITH THE PO-PO"
