San Angelo Police Make Arrest in Tres Rios Shooting

A 26-year-old San Angelo man has been arrested in connection with Tuesday’s shooting on Tres Rios Drive, said Officer Tracy Gonzalez, public information officer for the San Angelo Police Department.

"Since the incident, Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division have been working tirelessly to identify and locate the suspect [who] shot a 32-year-old San Angelo woman in the head Tuesday afternoon," said Gonzalez.

During the investigation, Gonzalez said detectives developed Christopher Ray Chavez as the suspect. Additionally, Chavez had an outstanding Arrest Warrant for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle from an unrelated incident.

Yesterday, members from the Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions and Special Operations Section (S.O.S.) located Chavez standing outside a residence located in the 1200 block of E. 26th Street.

"When Officers approached Chavez, Chavez fled," stated Gonzalez. "While in flight, Chavez produced a firearm from his waistband; however, Chavez was taken into custody before he was able to fire the weapon."

Chavez was arrested for his outstanding warrant and taken to Police Headquarters for questioning about Tuesday’s shooting. Following the interview, Chavez was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Gonzalez added that this is an ongoing investigation and no other information is available for release at this time. Additional charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.

WOW! Is this really the "PINBALL WIZARD?" If this is puke "IS" responsible for this shooting, he will need the key with "CELL BLOCK 8" stamped right between his eyes around the bridge of his nose! Then, he can spend the rest of his career behind prison bars explaining to anyone who will listen, just what the hell all those "hyroglifics" stamped on his face actually mean! Clearly, these are symbols of "GANG MEMBERSHIP" markings! Best of luck! "PINBALL WIZARD"

Okay, so is he 26 or 34? It starts out saying a "26" year old man was arrested, and then the article is about Chavez who is 34. @ R Ray...that's exactly what I thought. It appears as though he's advertising his guilt! Lol.

What is happening to San Angelo?? I'm just a hop skip and a jump from Tres Rios. Not to mention, saw the police chase someone to my neighbor's home just the other day and arrest him at gunpoint. I'm starting to fear for my children's safety in our own home. :(

Good job SAPD for taking down this criminal down! Why in the hell was he in our neighborhood? He was probably at the drug/flop house that needs to be cleaned out.

Dang.... I think that's my Sunday school teacher.... Wonder who will have to sub for him now.... :)

EL "SLY" would do "great" job, I'm sure. If that won't suffice, I wrote a piece called "College Girls, Mary Magdalene, And Getting Stoned," that I'm sure any liberal congregation would appreciate.

Tom Green Judicial Records show that this felon has a criminal record with offenses dating back to May 2011. Most appear to be related to illegal drug activity and he was "Released on Probation" back in August 2015. This most recent arrest includes "UNAUTH USE OF VEHICLE," "UNL POSS FIREARM BY FELON," & "AGG ASSAULT W/DEADLY WEAPON." What I also found of interest is his address. He address is listed as "TUSCON, AZ 85714." Clearly this felon is in San Angelo dealing in drugs. Hopefully, our Judicial System will put this dirt bag in prison for a while.

I hate to indulge in schadenfreude, but I came across this guy in person last week. He absolutely wins the Derp Award, and by Charles Darwin himself may he absolutely be naturally selected for infinity years of free room and board or be graciously given the opportunity to explore the wonders of the afterlife.

The little guy's earned it.

Masaru X, I appreciate the tip on the proper use of "QUOTE MARKS NOT ITALICS." My English teacher in college used to ride me about this all the time. I would explain to her that this was my style of "CREATIVE EXPRESSION" in the free world! I write this way to express my 'thoughts and feelings' whenever I want the reader to "HEAR ME." Yes...yes, it works! I'm also aware that the use of "CAPITAL LETTERING" in text when writing implies that one is "SHOUTING." No, "I'M NOT SHOUTING" at anyone... just hoping to draw your attention. I am an educated man and very aware of "PROPER WRITING" techniques but "WHO THE HELL" follows rules these days? Surely you can understand and concede that I too have a right to "CREATIVE EXPRESSION." Besides, I do like to be different, and I am different! By the way, I did not see either 'YOU' or 'DOCTOR DING-Bat' in Sunday School this morning. I was very disappointed! "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?"

I just assumed that San Angelo was regressive enough to still provide some of the perks that come with that. There are, in fact, some benefits to the "we don't tolerate that crap around here" mentality. Besides, you using quotaion marks like that makes it seem as though you learned to read while incarcerated, painting elaborate murals on your cell wall in the style of Diego Rivera with a touch of "Lowrider" out of condiments, assorted toiletries and a piece or two of contraband. But you're right. If an aquaintance of mine on the West Coast can sexually identify as a fox, I suppose "I" have no "right" to question your "unique" punctuation innovations.

Carry on, carnál.
