A man returned to Sunset Eye Care, 4341 Southwest Blvd., with a gun holstered in his waistband after an employee there informed him he could not fill out an application using a felt tip pen.
Officer Tracy Gonzalez, public information officer for the San Angelo Police Department, said on Friday, just before 10 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area around Sunset Mall for the report of an unwanted subject who had been previously issued a criminal trespass warning from Shannon Clinic located at 4235 Southwest Blvd.
While en route, officers were provided the name of the suspect, Lance Everett Belman, 33, and his vehicle’s description.
“When officers arrived, they observed the vehicle leaving the parking lot and heading for the Loop,” explained Gonzalez. “Officers also recognized the driver as Belman. Belman drove his white GMC Sierra over a curb in order to enter a turning lane and continued driving, even after pursuing officers activated their lights and sirens.”
Gonzalez said Belman eventually pulled over, but immediately exited his vehicle and pointed to the passenger compartment where officers observed a gun that appeared to be real at first glance. After further observation, however, officers determined it to be just a pellet gun.
Dispatch also advised officers that Belman had an outstanding arrest warrant, and when officers attempted to place Belman under arrest, he failed to comply with instructions and actively resisted them.
“He even held tight to his truck’s bed, but was ultimately pried off and taken into custody,” said Gonzalez. “Once at the jail, Belman refused to enter and had to be personally escorted inside and throughout the booking process.”
Gonzalez stated officers investigating at the scene found that Belman had entered Shannon Clinic briefly without causing incident then left and walked over to Sunset Eye Care Clinic. Once inside, Belman asked to pick up an item and for an application. He then began to fill out the application with a felt tip pen, and an employee there advised that he could not use that type of pen.
Belman became very upset and walked out of the clinic, retrieved the gun from his vehicle and placed it into his waistband. He then walked back towards the clinic. An employee observed this and advised a co-worker that he had a gun and was headed their way.
“All the employees exited through the back of the building and reported being in fear of their lives,” said Gonzalez. “It was reported that Belman then went to his vehicle and drove off. That’s when officers located him.”
Belman was charged with two counts of Resisting Arrest Search or Transport and on five outstanding warrants. This arrest marks number 11 for Belman in Tom Green County.

Also arrested Friday was Erick Jermaine Leday, 29 (above).
Gonzalez said on Friday, officers were sent to Velma St. and North Pope to investigate a report of a fight.
“Officers arrived and determined Leday had threatened a male and female with a sword, allegedly after the male accused Leday of abusing his own dog,” said Gonzalez.
As a result, Leday was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail for Deadly Conduct. This is Leday’s second arrest.
Over the weekend, 67 people made their way to the Tom Green County Jail. Out of that number, 22 people were arrested on new complaints and five on both new complaints and warrants. However, warrants topped the list of arrests at 39.

Well folks, once again we are entertained by two of "AMERICA'S MOST STUPID." First off, we have "DUFUS HARRY" who felt the need to replace a felt tip pin with a pellet gun just to complete an application! Go figure?? Then, we have a wanna be "NINJA" who is going to take on the world with a sword! Whew, I can sleep safely tonight knowing that the "DYNAMIC DUO" will be out of commission, at least for the night!

PermalinkIt's sad to say that idiots like these are becoming so commonplace these days that I'm not even really surprised. What caught my eye even more than the headlining story is the fact that someone was arrested for parking more than 18" from the curb. I would love to see a writeup on that one. Ha!

PermalinkI think that the people who get on here and put a fake name to run their mouths are cowards. Why don't you tell Dufas harry to his face. Why don't you talk slick to the ninja in his presence. Oh yeah I have already answered that in the first sentence. And what ever cop arrested someone for being parked in excess of 18" is a hoe. Clifford Dale Gibson Jr said that. Quit being a tough guy on the keyboard. Man up and shut up.

PermalinkWell Cliffy, it appears that you too have an extensive criminal background! A background check through the Tom Green Jail Records shows multiple arrest, and I do mean multiple arrest, with the most recent being 03/10/16, Booking Number, #398459. All these arrest might explain your "hostility" towards all of those who have posted rants on this venue involving "Lance Belman & Erick Leday." Are these two "BUDDIES" of yours? Your comments "Huntsville is the easiest place in the world to do time" suggest that perhaps you too spent some time there. How else would you know that it is the "easiest place in the world to do time?" Then you stated to Fritz John, "You would be under bubbas wing washing boxers and buying him things with your mama's money." Again, it sounds like you too may have had some experiences with "BUBBA" in Cell Block 8. What's the problem? Were you not satisfied with the "FOOT LONG SAMICH" that BUBBA gave you or was it that "YOU"RE MOMMA" could not send you enough money to quench your lust? You know what you "DAISY DOLL?" "YOU" do not offend, nor am I intimidated by you in the least way! "HAVE A COKE, A SMILE, AND CHILL YOU DAISY DOLL"

PermalinkInteresting comments section we have here, but there must be something in the city water inhibiting my capacity to appreciate the subtlety of the wit. Or something. And I think the heat is aggravating this "misanthropy" condition I've been suffering from, and not being able to partake of this ambrosial wittiness sure doesn't help.
(Where's Lares Deces' when you need him?)
