Carter Still Refuses to Debate Vasquez

Frank Carter, frontrunner in the San Angelo Police Chief race, stated this afternoohe will not debate Chief Tim Vasquez in a written statement.

Vasquez challenged Carter to a debate this morning at a press conference at City Hall.

“There have been a number of debates already and the majority of those are available online for viewing. I am not interested in debating with Chief Vasquez to discuss percentages and statistics as this has been done enough already,” he stated.

He suggested that citizens interested in his positions on the issues to visit his website and read them there, at FrankCarterForChief.com.

Carter claimed yesterday he spoke at the Concho Valley Republican Women’s Association forum at their noontime luncheon. “I was told Chief Vasquez was invited but chose not to attend.”

Chief Vasquez said this afternoon he was not contacted or informed about the forum.

A member of the audience at Thursday’s CVRWA meeting said an announcement was made at the meeting that the organization was unsuccessful in contacting Vasquez.

“We will continue to reach out to as many citizens as possible with personal face-to-face contact until the day of the election,” Carter concluded in his prepared statement.

Clearly, someone here (?) has matters that they prefer not to discuss? True "Leaders" do not back down under any circumstances! Mr. Carter, what are you running from? Take Chief Vasquez on in another debate and show "WE THE CITIZENS OF SAN ANGELO, TX" just how strong a leader you are capable of being! WE ALL HAVE SKELETONS IN THE CLOSET!

Is there any direction or standard on professional courtesy during police stops, and is anyone above the law?
