Voters Head to the Polls Today to Decide Mayor, Council, School Board, and Bonds

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Polls will be open Saturday, May 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. across Tom Green County as voters cast ballots for mayor, city council representatives, San Angelo ISD school board members, and two major bond propositions totaling over $438 million.

Voters will decide on a $397 million bond for San Angelo public schools and a $41.6 million bond for CRC Roofers Coliseum improvements.

Early voting wrapped up Tuesday with a final-day surge of 1,463 ballots cast — the highest single-day turnout of the eight-day period. According to the Tom Green County Elections Office, a total of 5,730 voters participated in early voting.

  • Belmore Baptist Church, 1214 South Bell St.

  • Calvary Baptist Church, 2401 Armstrong St.

  • Christoval Community Center, 20022 Main, Christoval

  • San Angelo ISD Admin. Bldg., 1621 University Ave.

  • CVT Bus Depot, 506 N. Chadbourne St.

  • SAF First Assembly of God, 1442 Edmund Blvd.

  • Grape Creek ISD, 8207 N US Hwy. 87

  • Keating Paint and Body, 5050 N. Chadbourne St.

  • Paulann Baptist Church, 2531 Smith Blvd.

  • Oak Grove Senior Apartments, 4359 Oak Grove Blvd.

  • Southgate Church of Christ, 528 Country Club Rd.

  • Southside Recreation Center, 2750 Ben Ficklin Rd.

  • Wall Brethren Church, 7921 Loop 570, Wall

  • MHMR Admin. Bldg., 1501 W. Beauregard

  • Veribest Baptist Church, 50 FM 2334, Veribest

  • Wesley United Trinity Methodist Church, 301 W. 18th St.

  • TXDOT Offices, 4502 Knickerbocker Rd., Bldg. E

  • Westlake Ace Hardware, 1801 Knickerbocker Rd.

Voter ID Requirements:

Accepted photo IDs include a Texas Driver License, Personal ID, Election Identification Certificate, Handgun License, Military ID, U.S. Passport, or U.S. Citizenship Certificate with a photo. IDs may be expired by up to four years for voters aged 18–69. Voters 70 and older may use an expired ID with no time limit if otherwise valid.

Provisional Voting:

Voters with registration issues may request a provisional ballot. These are available at all polling locations.

Tom Green county appraisal district raising property values again this year should help kill both bonds):):):

The only bond that should pass is for the coliseum. Don't frown for the kids. They're already failing at their current locations and with their current curriculum. Adding anything to that will only multiply their failures. A shiny new building won't fix the issues we have in our public school systems either.
