San Angelo Man Arrested After Knife Attack at Job Site

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man was arrested after threatening someone with a knife at a job site.

Andrew Reyes, 26, of San Angelo, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to court documents, on April 29, 2025, San Angelo police responded to the 3200 block of Red Bluff Road West regarding a call for service. Officers learned on scene from the victim that he had been threatened by Reyes with a knife.

The victim said that Reyes was sitting in a work truck when he was supposed to be working, so the victim told him to exit the vehicle and continue with the work. Reyes refused to work, so the victim told him to get out of the vehicle and leave. Reyes refused again and the victim attempted to remove him from the vehicle.

While trying to get Reyes out of the vehicle, he produced a knife and began swinging it at the victim and saying, “I’ll stab you” or “I’ll cut you." The victim said if he had not taken a step backwards, he would have been injured by Reyes.

Several witnesses were interviewed who said Reyes was sitting in the vehicle, refused to get out, and produced a knife when the victim tried to get him out of the truck.

The investigator interviewed Reyes, who said he was working when he decided to sit in the truck. Reyes said that he was approached by the victim, who said he needed to continue working. He told the victim he would not work for free. The victim explained that he was not working for free, and then he told Reyes to get out of the truck and walk away.

The victim then attempted to get Reyes out of the vehicle. Reyes said he wanted to feel like he was in control, so be pulled a knife from his pocket. He got out of the truck and the victim took a step towards him, so he thrusted the knife towards the victim. Reyes said that if the victim had not moved backwards when he thrusted the knife, he would have stabbed the victim. Reyes also said that he knew he had gone too far and that he was in the wrong.

Reyes was arrested on April 29, 2025, and is currently an inmate in the Tom Green County Jail being held on $15,000 bond.
