ASU Wind Ensemble’s Final Spring Concert Set for Sunday Downtown

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - The Angelo State University Wind Ensemble will present its final concert of the spring season on Sunday, April 27, in the Murphey Performance Hall at 72 W. College Ave. in downtown San Angelo.

Titled "Symphony No. 4," the concert will begin at 2:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. It will feature a variety of musical styles, including fanfare, folk and a full symphony.

The program will include:

  • "Astra" by Katahj Copley
  • "Country Gardens" by Percy Grainger, adapted by John Philip Sousa
  • "Symphonic Dance No. 1" by Carol Brittin Chambers
  • "Symphony No. 4" by David Maslanka

The ASU Wind Ensemble features about 50 student musicians performing on various woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. It is directed by Dr. Jonathan Alvis, ASU director of bands.
