San Angelo Man, 72, Arrested for Puncturing Tires in Neighborhood

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man was arrested Monday after it was discovered he had been placing bottle caps with nails inserted in them in the roadways around his home, which resulted in multiple punctured tires.

Donald Hall, 72, was charged with criminal mischief (damage valued between $2,500 and $30,000) and prohibited weapon (tire deflation device).

A detective with the San Angelo Police Department, Charles Barker, was assigned to investigate the case after reports of numerous punctured tires in the 200-400 block of Mimosa Drive.

With the assistance of victims, neighbors and tips from CrimeStoppers, Barker was able to identify Hall as a suspect and obtain two arrest warrants.

SAPD is asking any victims of punctured tires who have not filed a police report to visit https://www.sanangelopolice.org/coplogic and file an online report.

Victims can also contact Detective Barker at [email protected] or 325-657-4473.
