O.C. Fisher Reservoir Stocked With Bluegill Fish

SAN ANGELO, TX — O.C. Fisher Reservoir was stocked Tuesday with 21,000 bluegill fish, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

O.C. Fisher, which dropped below 1% capacity last year, was stabilized by the significant rainfall and flooding that hit the Concho Valley in September.

The lake at San Angelo State Park is now at 7% capacity, covering nearly 8,700 acre-feet of water.

The bluegill were stocked into O.C. Fisher in an effort to rebuild the prey base.

“These sunfish, along with gizzard shad, will serve as ideal forage for the sportfish in O.C. Fisher,” according to a TPWD Facebook post.
