SWEETWATER, TX – A truck fire on Interstate 20 near mile markers 240-241 caused traffic delays Monday as multiple emergency crews responded to the scene.
According to the Roscoe Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters from Roscoe assisted Sweetwater crews with the incident. Emergency responders first arrived just before 12:30 p.m., and additional help was requested shortly after. Both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-20 were temporarily reduced to one lane while crews worked to extinguish the fire and overhaul the scene.
The truck involved in the fire was overturned beneath the I-20 overpass, with debris scattered across the roadway as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
By 2:30 p.m., Roscoe crews were released from the scene, but wrecker services remained on-site for cleanup.
No information has been released regarding injuries or the cause of the fire.
