Thompson Named Head Football Coach at Forsan

 

FORSAN, TX — Casey Thompson, who has numerous ties to this area, was named the head football coach and athletic director at Forsan High School on Tuesday.

He was selected from over 90 applicants for the position.

Thompson was most recently the special teams coach at Class 3A Sweetwater.

He also previously served as the head football coach and AD for two years at 1A Sterling City, where he posted an 11-11 record.

Thompson is a graduate of Paint Creek High School and Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.

He had assistant coaching jobs with Groveton and Kaufman before becoming the running backs coach at Arlington Martin.

Thompson will inherit a Forsan team that went 2-8 last season. The Buffaloes had some solid success in previous years, however, going a combined 27-8 from the 2021 to 2023.
