Filing Closes: Every Seat Contested in San Angelo’s May 3 Election

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The filing period for San Angelo’s May 3, 2025, municipal election has officially closed, with multiple candidates entering races for mayor and city council seats.

A ballot order drawing is tentatively scheduled for Monday, Feb. 24.

Six candidates are running for mayor, including Gary Jenkins, Tom Thompson, Joshua Burleson, Juan Acevedo, Carlos Hernandez, and Trinidad Aguirre Jr.

In the race for Single-member District 2, John Bariou, Joe M. Self Jr., and Dudra Butler have filed to run.

Single-member District 4 will see a contest between Jamal Schumpert and Patrick Keely, while Larry Miller and Mary Coffey are running for the Single-member District 6 seat.
