SAN ANGELO, TX— The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, other law enforcement agencies, and volunteer fire departments are working a very serious and fiery crash on FM 2288 near the San Angelo State Park.
Around 2:40 p.m., a major crash was called on FM 2288 near Glasgow Road at Highland Range. The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office has issued a Nixle alert informing drivers to avoid the area as they try to extinguish a serious fire.
The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, Department of Public Safety, Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department, and Quail Valley Volunteer Fire Department are working the crash.
According to the Nixle, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office said to avoid the area due to a major crash at FM 2288 and Glasgow Road. The severity of the crash is considers moderate with possible threat to life and property and crews are already working to contain the fire.
Scanner reports indicated that fuel is leaking from the vehicle and that the medics that arrived are transporting three patients. The vehicles involved are unidentifiable but a white truck was observed to be involved.
Scanners also reported the road will be shut down until further notice and personnel are diverting traffic.

UPDATE: Reporters on scene obersved a black car and a white truck involved in the crash and the fire appeared to be extinguished.
