Former San Angelo ISD Counselor, Coach’s Wife Toni Davis Dies at 61

 

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Toni Davis, a former San Angelo ISD counselor and the wife of former Central Bobcats’ head football coach Brent Davis, died after a sudden illness Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, in Corpus Christi.

She was 61 years old.

Toni Davis spent 12 years in San Angelo from 2009 to 2021. In addition to her job as a counselor, she could always be seen on the field after football games with her husband.

Toni and Brent celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last June.

She was a mother of three children — Richard, Rileigh and Allie.

Richard was named the head football coach at Aransas Pass High School earlier this month. Rileigh and Allie were both Central High School graduates.

Toni was most recently working as a counselor at Gregory-Portland Middle School.

She graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in Corpus Christi, where she lettered in basketball, track and band. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and her master’s degree from Sam Houston State.

Visitation will be held at Sawyer George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Arlington Heights Church of Christ in Corpus Christi. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
